"When God's Purpose Faces Resistance"
Acts 12
December 1, 2024
GOD'S PURPOSE CAN NEVER BE CHANGED, DEFEATED, OR ANNIHILATED
This chapter is rich with themes of God's sovereignty, the spread of the Gospel, and how He works through both human opposition and divine intervention to advance His Kingdom.
I. Resistance will come when the Gospel expands its influence. (Acts 12:1-5)
II. When necessary, God will remove obstacles that stand in the way of His purpose. (Acts 12:6-23)
III. Small seeds planted multiply many times over. (Acts 12:24-25 and Acts 13:1-3)
On-ramp questions to ask:
- How committed am I to telling others about Jesus, no matter what?
- In what way do I understand that trouble in my life will ultimately keep me in the flow of God's purpose?
- Where am I seeing others around me becoming Christians and growing in their relationship with Christ?
